Waste Management

All kitchen waste from the Klub, daycare, chalets and villas is sorted on-site and recycled to feed our farm animals, or is used for making organic compost. We also collect all plastic waste which is sent for recycling. The e-waste is processed in collaboration with Earth Sense Pvt. Ltd., where we collect and accept electronic materials like old TVs, computers, battery cells, etc.

Bio Compost-Karma Initiatives-Eco Initiatives-Karma Lakelands

Bio Composting

Our compost which is used for soil enrichment, is a collection of plant clippings/prunings mixed with cow dung and sewage. The partnership of this biomass with sewage scuttles the smell and doesn’t attract flies or mosquitos. We also actively vermicompost - using various species of worms to make compost.

Water Harvesting-Karma Initiatives-Eco Initiatives-Karma Lakelands

Water Harvesting & Conservation

To promote sustainable living, rain water at Karma Lakelands is channelled and harvested for irrigation. As an initiative to avoid the needless wastage of water, we encourage guests to bring in their own towels to the pool/gym. However, guests may use the Klub towels that are available if they need to.

Water Bottling Plant-Karma Initiatives-Eco Initiatives-Karma Lakelands

Water Bottling Plant

To avoid using plastic, we decided to set up our own water bottling plant. We have found that plastic bottles contain microplastics which contaminate the water. By avoiding plastic, we now provide our guests with water in glass bottles, which are healthier and better for the environment.

Guests are welcome to bring their electronic waste, including batteries, and add it to the bins at any time for recycling. This initiative helps manage and recycle discarded electronic devices, promoting sustainability and reducing environmental pollution.

No Single Use Products

At Karma Lakelands, we try and say NO to all kinds of plastic. To support the initiative, we offer glass bottles for water instead of plastic. We do not believe in making money by selling water and hence provide complimentary glass bottles to be returned when the guests are leaving the Klub. We also discourage the use of straws but provide paper straws upon request.

Seed to Sapling-Karma Initiatives-Eco Initiatives-Karma Lakelands

Seed to Sapling

We request all our residents and guests to collect the seeds from the fruits they consume so we can turn them into future plants. It's a very simple step to save the seeds for a fruitful future. We have beautiful trees that you can see we've grown with your help. Please carry your seeds along, as one simple step means more fruits for our future generations.

We also have a tie-up with Peepal Baba from Give Trees Trust to support them in making the planet greener.
